BLACK BELT COMMUNITY FOUNDATION - Associates
BBCF Associates
Community Associates
Through a generous grant from the Mary Reynolds Babcock Foundation, the Black Belt Community Foundation expanded its partners to include 100 community associates for the Black Belt Community Foundation by providing extensive leadership training. The Black Belt Community Foundation is a grassroots institution.
To help us remain true to our mission, we developed Community Associates. These are individuals from across the region who are grounded in local communities who actively participate in Black Belt Community Foundation affairs.
Community Associates help link communities to the Foundation and the help the Foundation link to communities. Community Associates are active in the grant making process, serve on Foundation committees, and provide a potential source for future Foundation board members. Each county has at least five Community Associates and may have as many as 10.
Community Associates participate in all Black Belt Community Foundation events.
Each year, at least one overnight event is held for associates to continue their development.
